We never expected to be church planters; I was an engineer, and Amy was a teacher, but God had different plans for us. And there's nothing else that we'd rather be doing! Our services last approximately 75 minutes and include praise & worship, prayer, and a message. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early, and stop by the Welcome Desk upon arrival to collect your gift bag. Parking? Follow the "First Time" parking signs on arrival and keep your hazard lights so that our team can direct you to dedicated parking. Alternatively, simply follow the signs to "General Parking" Dress Code? Whatever you are most comfortable in! Do you have something for kids? Yes, we have a fun, safe, age-appropriate programme for children from birth up to Grade 7. Kids Check-In opens 15 minutes before the service. Do you have something for teens? Yes! Our Youth Group meets on Saturday evenings from 18:00-20:00. On Sundays, teens are invited to join the youth hangout directly after each service... Follow the directions from the service host during the service. Do you have something for special needs families? Yes! We have a dedicated champions group for children with special needs that meets at the 8:15 am service. What kind of church is Free Church? We are a charismatic, non-denominational Christian church. MISSIONS & OUTREACH We believe that following Jesus means living beyond ourselves. The Church isn't called to simply gather—it's called to go. That's why missions and outreach are at the heart of who we are at Free Church. One of the core pillars of our mission is to Go Live With Purpose . We want every person to discover that God has uniquely gifted them to make a difference in their community, their nation, and the world. Whether it's serving a neighbour, caring for the vulnerable, planting churches, or taking the Gospel across borders, every act of love points people to Jesus. Serve Days Throughout the year, we host Serve Days, where our church family comes together to meet practical needs and demonstrate God's love in our city. From community projects to supporting local organisations, Serve Days are an opportunity for everyone to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible difference. Food Pantry Our Food Pantry provides food parcels to individuals and families facing difficult seasons. Through the generosity of our church, we're able to offer practical support, encouragement, and hope to those who need it most. Every donation and every volunteer helps make a difference in someone's life. Ditshego Our partnership with Ditshego allows us to support families and individuals through practical care, empowerment, and community development initiatives that bring hope where it's needed most. Basadi Ba Moshito Foundation We are proud to partner with the Basadi Ba Moshito Foundation, supporting their work of restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and bringing hope to women and communities through meaningful outreach and development. Zambia Mission Trips Teams from Free Church travel to Zambia to partner with the Zambia Project to preach the Gospel. These mission trips are an opportunity to share the love of Jesus through practical service, leadership development, children's ministry, evangelism, and encouragement. Whether you're travelling for the first time or have been on many mission trips, we believe God uses these experiences to transform both the communities we serve and the people who go. Church Planting Healthy churches change communities, and we believe every person should have access to a life-giving local church. That's why Free Church partners with ARC (Association of Related Churches) to help plant life-giving, Bible-centred churches around the world. Through prayer, generosity, leadership development, and practical support, we're investing in seeing more churches established so that more people can encounter the hope of Jesus. YOUTH @ FREE Youth @ Free is a community where high school students can find real friendships, grow in their faith, and discover the purpose God has for their lives. We believe the teenage years are some of the most formative years of life, and we're passionate about helping young people follow Jesus with confidence and authenticity. Our gatherings are filled with fun, worship, relevant Bible teaching, honest conversations, and opportunities to build lasting friendships. Whether you're exploring faith for the first time or have been following Jesus for years, there's a place for you at Youth @ Free. Saturday Nights Our Youth group meets every Saturday evening at the Free Church Office. These nights are designed specifically for high school students and include games, worship, practical Bible teaching, small group discussions, and plenty of time to connect with friends. It's a relaxed, welcoming environment where you can be yourself, ask questions, and grow alongside other teenagers who are learning what it means to follow Jesus. Sundays at Free Church If you're joining us on a Sunday, we'd love to meet you too! After each Sunday service, you'll find our Youth Connection Point—a space where high school students can meet our leaders, connect with other teens, and learn more about everything happening at Youth @ Free. BAPTISM Water Baptism Water Baptism is a public, outward declaration that reflects a personal, inward faith. The word ‘baptise; comes from a Greek word baptise which means to ‘immerse or dip under water’. (Romans 6:1-8; Colossians 2:12,2 ; 2 Corinthians 5:17) Why Get Baptized? Every person who has decided to believe in Christ is encouraged to be baptised. In the New Testament as soon as people decided to put their faith in Jesus, they were baptised, and often baptism with the Holy Spirit followed. Jesus modeled baptism and taught it so this is an act of faith and obedience. What if...? The only pre-requisite to baptism is salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. Remember you don’t try to get better before seeking a doctor’s help. You seek help to get better. It’s the same with this journey. Don’t delay this significant, powerful moment. What to Expect If you are ready to take this step, click the button to sign up for our next baptism Sunday. We will get in touch with you and ask for a short voice note about what your decision means to you and a picture of you to share on screen On the day, plan to arrive at 08:00 | 09:45 at the Welcome Desk. We will give you your Raised to Life T-Shirt and talk about what it means to get baptised. Please get changed before the Service begins so that you are ready to come to the front when your voice note is played (Towards the end of the service). Afterward, we will spend some time praying for Jesus to baptise you with the Holy Spirit, and you will receive a certificate. What to wear/bring with: Dark shorts/long pants, Raised to Life T-shirt. LEADERSHIP COLLEGE Free Church Leadership College is a one-year intensive program that helps young adults: Follow Jesus Through theological studies and a personal discipleship journey, young leaders will gain a deeper knowledge of who Jesus is and what it means to be a Christ follower. Know Their True Identity Through the Pathway course, assigned readings, and continued discipleship, young leaders will grow in the knowledge of who God says they are. Grow in Freedom By serving in the local church and engaging in community outreach, young leaders will learn to walk in the freedom God has given them. A selfless freedom to serve one another in love (Galatians 5:13). Go Live with Purpose Through ongoing discipleship and practical tools, we aim to release young leaders into their God-given next steps by the end of the year. This may be to apply for a job in a local church, in business, or in further studies. There is no limit to what God can do, and His plans for each individual will prevail. What is the application process? Applicants must be between 17 and 25 years old. Follow these simple but important steps to complete your application successfully: Step 1: Apply Complete the Google Form here . Step 2: Submit Your Video Using a smartphone, film a 30-second video of yourself explaining why you want to join our Leadership College. Email your video to hello@freechurch.life . Step 3: Interview Our Leadership College team will contact you to schedule an interview appointment. Step 4: Outcome You will receive notification within one week after your interview whether your application has been successful or not. NEW TO FOLLOWING JESUS We’re so excited that you’ve decided to follow Jesus! Choosing to follow Him is the best decision you can make. We believe you were created on purpose, for a purpose. As you place your faith in Jesus, your sins are forgiven, you are made new, and you are set free to live the life God created you for. Everyone’s journey looks different, and we’re honoured to walk alongside you as you begin yours. Please pick up a Follow Jesus Journey book on Sunday. It's a 21-day discipleship track designed to help you take your next steps. What is Salvation? Salvation is a gift from God. When we choose to confess that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God raised him from death to life, God rescues us from the kingdom of darkness and transfers us to His kingdom. We are set free from the penalty of sin (eternal separation from God), and being brought into a new life with Him. Why do we need it? We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard. Without help, we remain separated from Him and face the eternal consequence of that separation. How does it happen? God is holy and just; sin cannot simply be ignored. God provided a way: in Jesus Christ, who lived perfectly, died for our sins, and rose from the dead, we are offered forgiveness and new life. Our part: we respond by faith (trusting Jesus), repentance (turning from our own way), and committing to follow Him. What does salvation bring? We are made new! We are forgiven, adopted into God’s family, reconciled to Him. We are restored to the true identity God has for us. God gives us the Holy Spirit to live inside us, and by the Holy Spirit's leading and power, we begin to live in freedom from sin’s control, and begin a journey of growth into what God has made us to be. Living in His Kingdom from now until eternity And it points towards eternal life: one day we will fully live in God’s presence, free of all brokenness. What can you do now? Invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life (trust Him as both Lord and Saviour). Confess your need, ask for forgiveness, and commit to follow Him. If you’re not sure what to pray, start with this: Father, thank You that You see me and love me. I admit that I’ve tried to do life my own way, and today I choose to surrender to You. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again so that I could be forgiven and free. Please forgive my sin, wash me clean, and fill me with Your Spirit. From this day forward, I choose to follow You and trust You with my life. Help me to know You more, walk in Your ways, and live out the purpose You’ve placed in me. Thank You, Jesus, I’m Yours. Amen. Our heart is to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where every child can discover who God is, grow in their faith, and build meaningful friendships. Families with Special Needs We believe every child is wonderfully made and deserves to experience the love of Jesus in a way that helps them flourish. We welcome children with additional or special needs to our dedicated special needs ministry. We'd love the opportunity to partner with you to understand your child's unique needs and help them participate as comfortably as possible. If your child requires additional support, please let us know before the service or speak to one of our team members at check-in.
